Cosmetic science is a fast moving area. Furthermore, rapid and considerable changes in the worldwide regulatory organizations of cosmetics, increasing constraints and limitations in the choice of cosmetic ingredients and regular pressure from the media, force the cosmetic formulators to think differently about the quality of their products. The cosmetics industry is quite wide considering it ranges from lipstick to eyeshadow, from face creams to the foundation. Different people have skin with different characters and that why it is very important to take keen consideration of different factors before you choose a product. Because of this increasing application of science to beauty, the line between cosmetic and medical research is becoming blurred. Adverse reactions of chemicals have effects on environment and humans, particularly severe in long term. The laboratories of major cosmetic companies perform high technology research in areas such as matrix biology, antioxidants, and ageing processes. Important is the fact that along with the price, proper rules and regulations must be established for their production, marketing, and distribution.
