Lexicographical Information System Model

In the modern, global world, it is impossible to propose a language that will not be fully supported by technology. In order for the Georgian language not to become a non-functional language in the modern world, it is necessary to technologize the language for the exchange of valuable information. The paper presents a general design of a database system for lexical information that can be accessed from both lexicographic and terminological points of view. Abstract model of lexicographic information system development is discussed. Also, an approach to creating, sharing and exchanging terminological data collections that meets international standards. In addition, a framework is described that provides the definition of compatible terminology markup languages. Using a single federated data model facilitates the transfer of common information between termbases and dictionaries, facilitating information sharing and reuse. The combined model is based on the LMF and TMF metamodels for lexicographic and terminological databases and is compatible with both, allowing information to be imported from existing dictionaries and termbases. The team of Georgian lexicographers has accumulated a lot of experience working on various terminological dictionaries. As a result of invaluable work, various types of dictionaries have been created, including terminological ones, which in turn combine the terminology of such fields as: electronic and computer equipment, machinery, information and communication technologies, automotive, construction, railway and others. The paper can be used by relevant specialists working on digitization projects based on international standards of lexicography and terminology. The discussed approaches will help the integration of the Georgian language into international digital translation products and programs, which depends on the future of the Georgian state language as a cultural weapon and its worthy place among the advanced languages of the world.
