The problem of formation of forms in dissipative structures

Author: Ekaterine Tchonishvili
Keywords: Diffusion, reaction-diffusion, formation of structures
Annotation:

The report discusses the reaction-diffusion model of generating dissipative structures in a distributed complex system. An element is considered as an open system where matter, mass, energy exchange with other elements and diffusion takes place. Brusselsator and Fitzhugh-Nagumo models are specifically discussed. Numerical experiments have shown that the structures formed under the influence of reaction-diffusion qualitatively correspond to the real distributions in nature, such as the cases of fish and cheetah in biology, as well as the uneven distribution of substance concentrations in biochemical reactions. It is shown that a small change in the parameters greatly changes the final image, which is explained by the non-linearity of the problem.
